By Jose G. Monagas | 10 March 2025 The Japanese Garden of Calgary a.k.a. “Yuki no Naka no Yorokobi” ( 雪の中での喜び ) I've decided to share a vision that will connect Calgary’s natural beauty with the timeless elegance of Japanese garden traditions: The Japanese Garden of Calgary. This garden will serve as a bridge between two cultures, offering a space for reflection, cultural exchange, and celebration. Proposed Name for the Garden The name “Yuki no Naka no Yorokobi” (雪の中での喜び), meaning “Joy in the Snow”, symbolizes the joy, resilience, and renewal found in the coldest of seasons, deepening our connection to winter’s beauty. Why This Garden Matters It will enhance Calgary’s cultural landscape, becoming a destination for both locals and visitors. It will foster connection and learning, serving as a space for cultural exchange between Japan and Calgary traditions. It will create a lasting legacy, celebrating nature, community, and the beauty of everyday life. Let’s Make This Happen Join ...
